Sofia Opera and Ballet staged the opera "Elektra" at AKM

According to the statement made by the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet (IDOB), the work was staged at the 16th International Opera and Ballet Festival organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism State Opera and Ballet General Directorate.

The group from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, was met with great interest from the audience.

The work, in which composer Richard Strauss creates an atmosphere of psychological tension with his modern and impressive musical language, was adapted from Sophocles' classic tragedy.

Plamen Kartaloff staged the play, whose libretto was written by Hugo von Hofmannsthal.

One of the most powerful works of Greek tragedy, the opera tackles themes such as revenge, justice, and family ties with dramatic power.

The Sofia Opera and Ballet Orchestra was conducted by conductor Evan-Alexis Christ.

The choreography of the work is by Fredy Franzutti, costume designs are by Leo Kulash, sets are by Sven Jonke and lighting design is by Andrej Hajdinjak.

In the performance, Gergana Rusekova played the role of "Klytaemnestra", Lilia Kehayova played the role of "Elektra", Tsevetana Bandalovska played the role of "Chryzothemis", Atanas Mladenov played the role of "Orest" and Daniel Ostretsov played the role of "Aegisth".
